Our Crops

Carrots in

The team have done a really good job of getting our Carrots drilled. These will be in supermarkets near you in the run up to Christmas 2022!

beautiful Barley

Our hybrid Winter Barley seed looking good in the sunshine. Due it being another dry spring, we have had to irrigate the crop to keep it looking well.

Potato planting

We have started planting our potatoes, these spuds are planned to be on a supermarket shelf near you in August.

onion outload

The team are busy loading our Onions onto lorries this morning. We have dried, cured and cooled the Onions since they were put into store in September. They are heading to the pack house where they will be topped, tailed, sized and packed ready for a supermarket near you.

another harvest complete

We are finally down to the last five beds of potatoes, its been a long slog this season with low demand for our top quality spuds. Well done to all of the team for their efforts, luckily for us its been a kind autumn!

done drilling

We have managed to get all of our winter sowing completed this year in great conditions, it makes a change from the past tow years where horrible autumns have scuppered our drilling plans. The drills will have a rest until spring!

A Maizing harvest

The forage harvesting team are here cutting our crops for local Anaerobic Digestion plants. The plants produce methane that is then burnt to make green energy.

Onions at night

With the threat of the changing seasons, the Thoresby team have been working late into the evenings to make sure we harvest our Onions in the best possible condition.

invaluable drier

As harvest rumbles on, the dull weather isn’t allowing us to harvest many of our crops at the correct moisture to store them so we are having to dry our crops to make sure they will not spoil.
